Adam Grant, Ph.D. (FAN ’14, ’16), is an organizational psychologist at The Wharton School, where he has been the top-rated professor for seven straight years. His six books have sold millions of copies, his TED talks have been viewed more than thirty-five million times, and he hosts the hit podcast Re:Thinking and co-hosts the podcast The Curiosity Shop with Brené Brown, Ph.D. (FAN ’12, ’15, ’17). His new book, Vibe: The Secrets of Strong Connections in a Lonely World, will be released in October 2026.
Grant’s pioneering research has challenged widespread assumptions about motivation, success, character, and change, and his viral piece on languishing was the most-read New York Times article of 2021 and the most-saved article across platforms. He has been recognized as the world’s #2 most influential management thinker and one of Fortune’s 40 Under 40, and he has received distinguished scientific achievement awards from the American Psychological Association and the National Science Foundation.
Grant curates the Next Big Idea Club along with Susan Cain (FAN ’13, ’22), Malcolm Gladwell, and Daniel Pink (FAN ’18, ’22), handpicking two new books each quarter for subscribers and donating 100% of profits to provide books for children in under-resourced communities.
Grant received his BA from Harvard University and his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, and he is a former Junior Olympic springboard diver and magician.
