Becoming Wise: An Inquiry into the Mystery and Art of Living
FAN presents Krista Tippet and Becoming Wise: An Inquiry into the Mystery and Art of Living. Peabody-Award-winning broadcaster and National Humanities Medalist Krista Tippett presents a brave and fiercely hopeful vision of humanity for this century. Ms. Tippett has interviewed the most extraordinary voices examining the great questions of meaning for our time on her national public radio program and podcast, On Being. Scientists, theologians, poets, activists, and many others have opened themselves up in their conversations with her. With Becoming Wise, she plumbs these conversations and reflects on her own journey to identify virtues and tools for living wisely.
Here’s what three-time FAN speaker Andrew Solomon, Ph.D. says about Ms. Tippett’s new book: “Krista Tippett’s ecumenical generosity speaks both to high moral standards and to diverse ways of conceptualizing and achieving them. Her trade has been listening, and from that listening has emerged a deep understanding of the mind and the heart and the curious bridges between them. This is a book about kindness and forgiveness and the insight that is contingent on abandoning monolithic paradigms.”
